Solano Stroll was a success!  Thanks to Denise, the coordinator, and Phuoc, Rev Bill, Sandy, Duane, Art, Tamara, JohnP, NewBob, George (great to see you, George!) Frank, Leo, Linda, Deborah (you are great at getting folks to come to the booth), Circle K'ers.  Rumors of at least $915.00 brought in!  Congratulations to all who participated.  Thank you Denise for all you did to coordinate this activity.
                                                          & nbsp;
Phuoc, in his third-to-last Tuesday of presiding over this motley crew, gonged us to order.  BobR led us in song.  RevBill called for His blessing on all of us, on our work with kids, and on our good deeds.  Linda was the ticket gatherer and Duane given the Fine Fine Box.

In the midst of the intro's, the Circle K'ers came in with a huge banner stating "Albany Citizen of the Year:  Jack Rosano".  The applause was loud and long.

Phuoc honored the soon-to-be ExLtGov Ed and the Immediate Past LtGov Frank.

The Quilting Project continues to be successful through Linda9 9s guidance.  Three quilts were recently sold at a fund raiser.  Over $10,000 has been raised so far.  Linda has also found two more groups who work with seniors and would appreciate quilts.  Check with Linda for the next scheduled "sewing" days.

We are Happy; We are Sad.
--NewBob:  Happy for the CircleK'ers and Deborah for their expertise in bringing folks in during the Solano Stroll.  Sad, 'cuz we do not have a Kiwanis banner.  He put in a $100 check to get the "ball rolling".
Jack:  Happy for Sunday and all the familiar folks waving to him.
Phuoc:  Sad for Betty Loman and reminding us to sign the sympathy card for the recent loss of her sister. Sad for the Golden Bears.  Happy for the Kiwanis turnout at the Solano Stroll and for the continuation of the Spirit Social at Circle K that he had instigated long ago.  Sad for not working Monday.
Frank:  Grumpy 'cuz Phuoc did not work Monday.
Josh:  Happy for the Spirit Social and the success of the first Circle K meeting.
Denise:  Happy for her Circle K T-Shirt and for the success of=2 0the Solano Stroll.
Linda:  A looooong drawn out time-filler that included her mom's stroke, her dad deciding to get her Mom out of the hospital on the designated date (when he found out the costs), a motorcycle cop and her father who ran through a stop sign following the ambulance to the hospital, a first grandchild at Lowell who joined Key Club, sales of quilts, buying German stuff for auction, etc. etc. etc.
Joe: Happy for the Kiwanis Interclub at the first meeting.
Ed:  Stating he could not match Linda, just referred to "all the good and bad stuff" over the last couple of weeks.

With no speaker, the rest of the meeting was spent in discussing and organizing NewBob's suggestion of a banner.  Linda volunteered (thank you Linda) to form a Committee of Visibility with NewBob.

Sandy suggested we needed a pamphlet.  (Scribe comment, Jeff and Tamara and George have done ones in the past and might have some copies of those).

Deborah received a compliment for the great pictures on the Solano Stroll Booth (great job, Deborah).
=0 A

Linda suggested getting those pictures and getting "a looping thing going" on our web.  Joe volunteered to do it if we get the pictures to him.

Thanks, NewBob, for getting us focused on "visibility" through the banner (and hence sparking other ideas!).
