A special guest with us today is Gail Nipitnorasate (That my Kiwanian friends is EXACTLY how it is spelled, I just copy and pasted electronically from an old IM* ), why is she so special?Well… it happens that she is no longer a college student.I overheard her say that she is looking for a full time job in either marketing (?) for health/nutrition or nonprofit work.Keep an eye out (especially for jobs around here) and hand her a job application along with a Kiwanis Ap!
Our past Lt Gov were also honored, but there were so many of them in the room, you can hardly keep track.I think there was Levitch and… a pair of Bliss'

Our PrezDenise was still on grief leave; Denise our prayers and thoughts and sympathy are with you during this difficult time, the passing of your mom.
Arianna, President of the Berkeley High School Key Club immediately took over as today's President, kicking the Stand-In-For-Denise Tammy from the podium.PrezArianna called upon Phuoc to lead us in Our Patriotic Song; Phuoc chose the Star Spangled Banner and we sang? it, well sang it way off key (Hey Phuoc, it WAS Key Club day, we should have been on Key…).RevBill gave the invocation thanking God for the Key Club, our service work and the rain.Phuoc was thanked for collecting the tickets.
Our own Roberta was noted as Trustee Elect.Way to go, Roberta; we are proud of you.
CircleK Monica introduced the other members of her team: Vijay and SecKathy.CircleK has been busy with service work and also took time to attend a coooold Chinese New Year's parade.Coming up: a Friday Fundraiser involving baking cakes (the winner receiving $$$ for their favorite charity), a Music/Arts Festival, and a Sunday district project in Sacramento.
The Annual St. Patrick's Day Feast will be Saturday March 14 at the Paradis'.Details will follow. We are looking for a few volunteers to help with the Corned Beef and verge cooking.(contacts: Duane dl990@aol.com or Tamara tamara@dgi.com)
With the "Official Meeting" completed, PrezArianna went into Take-Over Mode.
Key Clubbers' participating in the ruckus:Erika, Pia, Derek, Andrew, Robert, Jon, Andrew, Carney, Monika, Emma N, Emma R, Emma G, Yohanna, Emily, Juetzinia, Alex, Natalie.Their club has been recently involved in Shore Line Clean Up and Save The Bay.They have an annual December dinner as a fundraiser.
Jon The Enforcer had earlier absconded with the Fine Box.We were fined from the moment we entered the luncheon room, literally ("late, Enforcer, I wasn't late"….but the $ went into the box anyway").
And the games immediately began.Game One involved a set of cards with hidden word plays; an example:&n bsp; "job in job" translated to "in between jobs".Tables were fined for each card missed. Many tables were fined!
Game Two involved timing the completion of a Rubik's cube by a Speedy Expert.Table Four won (read didn't have to pay a fine").How fast was the expert…48 seconds. The Scribe's table had guessed 44 seconds (way to go Table Four). And there was the added insurance that the puzzle had been truly mixed up because State Farm Frank was the mixer.
Game Three was Pin The Tail on the...Kiwi.Losing tables paid $5 (we all paid) and cheaters were to be charged $20 (we were all honest?).The Table Reps were a motley crew:Frank and Duane and Roberta all missed, while Sandy missed but was the closest to the tail section (if you call the nose, close).
Finally, the moment we had all anticipated…The Food Auction.Morsels and the highest bidders were:
Tiger (chocolate and vanilla) cake pieces—Phuoc
Homemade granola—Evie
Apple pie—Tamara
Brownies—Phuoc
Madeline cookies—JohnP

Phuoc—happy the CAL bears beat Stanford; sad the CAL bears lost to Stanford (men's /women's basketball)
John—happy for the rain
Jack—happy for the Key club
Frank—happy for his table
PrezArianna thanked us for the money collected during the meeting (yep, lots) and for putting up with the Key Club and their antics.
As an aside, this was another Great Meeting—we giggled, we teased, we laughed, we made fools o f ourselves and each other and we all left with smiles!Thank YOU Key Club for providing us with a delightful meeting.
